Subdeck Privacy Policy

Subdeck values your privacy and is committed to handling data related to your use of the app in a clear and responsible manner.

This Privacy Policy explains how data is stored, used, and processed when you use Subdeck, as well as certain Apple services and third-party services involved in providing specific features.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Subdeck iOS app and its related features.

Subdeck is a subscription management app that allows you to record and manage information such as subscriptions, payment dates, amounts, currencies, categories, and reminders.

Subdeck does not provide an independent account registration or login system and does not operate its own servers for storing users' subscription data.

2. Data You Create in Subdeck

Depending on the features you use, you may voluntarily create or configure information including, but not limited to:

• Subscription names
• Subscription amounts and currencies
• Start dates and payment dates
• Billing cycles
• Free trial information
• Cancellation status
• Subscription categories
• Reminder settings
• Notes
• Subscription history
• Icons, colors, and other display information

This information is used to provide subscription management, payment reminders, spending statistics, and other subscription-related features.

Subdeck does not automatically send this core subscription data to servers controlled by the developer.

3. Local Data Storage

By default, your subscriptions, subscription history, categories, and other core data are stored locally on your device.

Certain app settings and states are also stored locally, including, for example:

• Preferred display currency
• Appearance settings
• Reminder time
• Notification settings
• iCloud sync settings
• Certain Pro entitlement states
• Exchange rate cache
• Backup-related status

These settings are primarily used to preserve your preferences and provide the relevant app features.

Subdeck does not operate a centralized developer-controlled user database for storing this data.

4. iCloud Sync

If you have Subdeck Pro and choose to enable iCloud Sync, Subdeck uses Apple's iCloud / CloudKit services to synchronize relevant data across devices signed in to the same Apple Account.

Data that may be synchronized includes:

• Subscription information
• Subscription history
• Subscription categories
• Records and relationships necessary to support the data above

This data is synchronized through Apple's CloudKit Private Database.

Subdeck does not provide a separate iCloud login system and does not access your Apple Account identifier, advertising identifier, or CloudKit user identity identifier through the app's code.

Certain app settings remain stored locally on your device and are not synchronized to iCloud with your subscription data.

If you disable iCloud Sync in Subdeck, Subdeck does not actively delete data that was previously synchronized to iCloud.

iCloud and CloudKit are services provided by Apple. Their storage, security, and other data processing practices are also subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.

5. Local Backup and Restore

Subdeck provides manual backup and restore features.

When you choose to create a backup, Subdeck generates a backup file in JSON format on your device. The backup may contain:

• Subscriptions and subscription history
• Subscription categories
• Certain app settings
• Backup creation time
• App version and other necessary backup information

The backup file is first generated locally on your device. You may then use the iOS system sharing interface to choose where to save or send it, such as the Files app, AirDrop, email, or another app or service of your choice.

Subdeck does not automatically upload manual backup files to developer-controlled servers.

If you choose to send or store a backup file using a third-party app, cloud storage provider, or other service, the subsequent storage and processing of that file will be governed by the privacy policy and terms of the service you selected.

Backup files may contain your subscription information. Please keep them secure and carefully choose where you share or store them.

6. Exchange Rate Service

To provide reference currency conversion rates, Subdeck accesses the third-party exchange rate service Frankfurter.

When requesting exchange rates, Subdeck sends only the currency codes necessary to perform the conversion, such as the base currency and target currency.

Subdeck does not intentionally send the following information to the exchange rate service for this purpose:

• Subscription names
• Subscription amounts
• Notes
• Subscription history
• Contact information
• Apple Account information
• Advertising identifiers

As with ordinary internet services, the service provider may automatically receive technical information necessary to establish a network connection, such as your IP address. Such information is handled by the relevant service provider in accordance with its own privacy practices.

Subdeck may cache certain exchange rate data locally on your device to reduce unnecessary network requests and improve the user experience.

7. Notifications and Subscription Reminders

If you allow Subdeck to send notifications, notification permission is used only for locally scheduled subscription-related reminders, currently including:

• First payment reminders
• Payment reminders

Reminder content may include the subscription name, amount, and the number of days before payment.

These reminders are created and scheduled locally on your device.

Subdeck does not operate a remote push notification server for sending these subscription reminders and does not upload your subscription content to developer-controlled servers for this purpose.

Records marked as one-time purchases do not receive the reminders described above.

You can manage notification permissions at any time through Subdeck settings or iOS system settings.

8. In-App Purchases

Subdeck offers in-app purchases through the Apple App Store, currently including:

• Pro Annual Auto-Renewable Subscription
• Pro Lifetime Purchase

Purchases and transactions are processed through Apple's StoreKit and App Store systems.

Subdeck does not directly collect or store your:

• Debit card information
• Credit card information
• Apple Pay payment information
• App Store account password

Subdeck uses StoreKit to obtain the purchase and entitlement status necessary to determine whether you have access to the relevant Pro features.

For subscription status synchronization, purchase analytics, and revenue reporting, Subdeck uses the third-party subscription infrastructure service RevenueCat. RevenueCat may receive information related to App Store transactions, such as product identifiers, purchase status, subscription status, transaction timing, and an anonymous app user identifier.

Subdeck does not send RevenueCat your debit or credit card information, Apple Pay payment credentials, App Store account password, subscription names, notes, custom categories, or other subscription-management content.

Information processed by RevenueCat is also subject to RevenueCat’s own privacy policy and data processing terms.

For product analytics, Subdeck may also send anonymous or pseudonymous purchase-flow events to Mixpanel (for example, whether a purchase was started, completed, or cancelled, and whether the product type is annual or lifetime), but it does not send Apple payment credentials or your subscription-management free-text content.

Transaction-related data is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.

9. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

The current version of Subdeck:

• Does not integrate third-party advertising SDKs
• Does not integrate third-party crash analytics SDKs
• Does not use IDFA for advertising tracking
• Does not request App Tracking Transparency permission for cross-app tracking
• Does not use your subscription records to build advertising profiles
• Does not sell your subscription data to advertising platforms

To understand how Subdeck is used and to improve the product (for example, whether users complete onboarding, open the paywall, or abandon a purchase), Subdeck integrates the third-party product analytics service Mixpanel.

Through Mixpanel, Subdeck may send anonymous or pseudonymous product usage events, such as:

• App opens
• Onboarding started and completed
• Creating, updating, marking cancelled, reactivating, or deleting a subscription record (event type and similar enumerated information only; not subscription names, notes, or amount text)
• Paywall views, purchase started/succeeded/cancelled, and restore-purchase taps
• Feature types blocked by free-tier limits

Such analytics data may include anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers (to distinguish activity on the same install), app version, device model, operating system version, and event properties we configure (for example, paywall source, or whether a product is annual or lifetime).

Subdeck does not send the following to Mixpanel for analytics:

• Subscription names, notes, custom category names, or other free-text content you enter
• Exact amount values
• Email addresses, names, or account credentials (Subdeck has no independent account system)
• IDFA or identifiers used for cross-app advertising tracking

In the current configuration, Subdeck disables Mixpanel’s IP-based geolocation. Analytics data is sent to Mixpanel’s EU residency endpoint. Information received by Mixpanel is also subject to Mixpanel’s own privacy policy and data processing terms.

Processing related to purchases, subscription status synchronization, and revenue analytics is also described in Section 8 regarding RevenueCat.

Subdeck does not use your subscription management data for targeted advertising.

10. System Permissions

Subdeck follows a principle of requesting only the permissions necessary to provide its features.

The current version primarily requests:

Notification Permission

Used to provide first payment reminders and payment reminders related to your subscriptions.

The current version does not actively request access to your:

• Photos
• Camera
• Location
• Contacts
• System calendar
• Microphone
• Advertising tracking permission

Subdeck uses system-provided file selection and sharing features for importing, exporting, and sharing backup files.

If future features require additional system permissions, Subdeck will explain the relevant purpose and request authorization as required by the operating system.

11. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

Subdeck does not sell your personal data or subscription records.

Except where necessary to provide the features described in this Privacy Policy, Subdeck does not intentionally provide your subscription records, notes, or subscription history to other companies.

The current version may involve the following external services:

Apple iCloud / CloudKit

Used to synchronize subscription data across your Apple devices when you have Subdeck Pro and choose to enable iCloud Sync.

Apple App Store / StoreKit

Used for in-app purchases, transaction processing, and Pro entitlement verification.

Frankfurter

Used to obtain reference exchange rates. Subdeck only intentionally sends the currency codes necessary for the requested conversion.

RevenueCat

Used to receive and synchronize App Store purchase and subscription status and to provide developer-facing subscription, revenue, and transaction analytics.

Subdeck does not use RevenueCat as the sole source of truth for in-app Pro entitlement decisions, and does not send RevenueCat subscription names, notes, custom categories, or contact information.

Mixpanel

Used for product analytics to understand feature usage and the purchase flow and to improve Subdeck.

Subdeck only sends anonymous or pseudonymous usage events and necessary technical information, and does not send subscription names, notes, exact amount values, or contact information.

Analytics data is sent to Mixpanel’s EU data residency region.

Sharing or Storage Services You Choose

These services are involved only when you choose to export and share a backup file. The recipient or destination is selected by you.

Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms with respect to the information they process.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Deleting a Subscription

You can delete subscription records directly within Subdeck.

When a subscription is deleted, the subscription and its related history are removed from the data storage currently in use.

If iCloud Sync is enabled, deletion is handled through the synchronization mechanisms provided by SwiftData and CloudKit. The timing and completion of cloud synchronization also depend on Apple's iCloud / CloudKit services.

Disabling iCloud Sync

If you previously enabled iCloud Sync and later disable it, Subdeck does not actively delete data that was previously synchronized to iCloud.

Uninstalling Subdeck

When Subdeck is uninstalled, locally stored data within the app's sandbox is handled according to iOS application data management mechanisms.

Data previously stored or synchronized in iCloud may continue to exist and remains subject to your Apple Account and iCloud data management controls.

Manual Backup Files

Backup files that you export are managed by you.

If you have saved a backup file to the Files app, another device, email, cloud storage, or another third-party service, uninstalling Subdeck will not automatically delete those separately stored copies.

Because Subdeck does not provide an independent user account system or operate a developer-controlled server containing your subscription data, the developer cannot remotely access or directly delete subscription data stored only on your device, in your personal iCloud account, or in locations you independently choose.

13. Your Choices and Rights

You can manage relevant data and permissions using features provided by Subdeck and iOS, including:

• Viewing, editing, or deleting subscription records
• Enabling or disabling iCloud Sync
• Creating and managing local backups
• Managing notification permissions
• Uninstalling the app and removing its local app data
• Managing relevant iCloud data through tools provided by Apple

Depending on the data protection laws applicable in your country or region, you may also have rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or objection to certain processing.

If relevant data is actually held or controlled by the Subdeck developer, you may submit a request using the contact information provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.

For data stored only on your device, in your personal iCloud account, or with third-party services you independently choose, the developer cannot directly access such data and therefore cannot remotely access, modify, or delete it on your behalf.

14. Data Security

Subdeck aims to minimize unnecessary data collection and data transmission.

Your core subscription data is primarily stored on your device and, when you choose to enable synchronization, within Apple's iCloud environment.

Product analytics events and purchase/subscription status data may also be processed by Mixpanel and RevenueCat for the purposes described above.

Subdeck does not operate developer-controlled servers for centrally storing users' subscription data.

However, no method of electronic storage, device security, or network transmission can guarantee absolute security. Please take appropriate steps to protect your device, Apple Account, and manually exported backup files.

15. Children's Privacy

Subdeck is not specifically designed for children.

Subdeck does not provide a user account system and does not intentionally ask children to provide identity information, contact information, or information used for advertising tracking.

If Subdeck's features or intended audience materially change in the future, appropriate privacy protections and this Privacy Policy will be updated in accordance with applicable laws and platform requirements.

16. External Links and Services

Subdeck may contain links to Apple's terms of service, privacy policies, email services, or other external websites and services.

When you choose to leave Subdeck and access a third-party website, app, or service, that third party's handling of information is not governed by this Privacy Policy.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies and terms of any third-party services you choose to use.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Subdeck's features, data processing practices, services used, or applicable legal requirements change.

When this Privacy Policy is updated, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.

If a change materially affects your privacy rights or the way your data is processed, we may provide additional notice through reasonable means where appropriate.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for the latest information.
